Big Sky Eye Care is happy to introduce Dr. Christopher Qualls and Dr. Mariah Mitman, as they join the practice in August of 2023!
Dr. Christopher Qualls grew up in California’s Central Valley. He received his bachelor’s degree in Biology: Systems Physiology at San Jose State University. Afterwards, he attended Pacific University School of Optometry in Forest Grove, OR.
This was where he met his wife Dr. Maria Mitman, who was born and raised in the Bitterroot Valley. Upon graduating he and Dr. Mitman moved to Reno, NV where they practiced optometry for five years.
During Optometry school, Dr. Qualls completed his internships in California at the Fresno VA, Missouri, Montana at Malmstrom Airforce Base, and Wyoming at Fort Washakie IHS.
Dr. Qualls is a primary eye healthcare professional. He provides eye health exams and is board certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease.
On the weekends you are likely to find Dr. Qualls fishing, hiking, or camping. He and his wife along with their two energetic dogs, enjoy exploring the great outdoor opportunities Montana has to offer.
Dr. Mariah Mitman was born and raised in Montana, graduating from Florence-Carlton High School before attending Montana State University. She then moved to Oregon, where she attended Pacific University College of Optometry.
After graduating with her Dr. of Optometry, she moved to Reno, where she completed a residency at the Sierra Nevada VA, furthering her education in ocular disease and primary care optometry.
Despite attending MSU, Dr. Mitman is a lifelong Griz fan and loves cheering on her football team. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her husband and two dogs. They enjoy hiking, camping, and exploring all the outdoor activities Montana has to offer.
